Accounting Technician (work from home in Quebec)

Permanent, full-time, daytime position. This position can be done on a telecommuting basis but may require occasional travel to our Longueuil office.

Your Role

Perform monthly bank reconciliations and daily cash receipts reconciliations.
Record transactions from sales, credit cards, purchases, and vendor payments in the accounting system; document and archive.
Obtain approvals for recorded purchases.
Analyze large vendor invoices and coordinate with appropriate departments.
Prepare accounts payable age.
Communicate with vendors as needed.
Handle simple cases of vendor billing issues.
Prepare and deposit customer checks.
Review and prepare reimbursements for employee expense reports.
Perform ad-hoc analysis.

Your Profile

DEC in accounting and 3 years of experience in a similar position (any combination of education and experience deemed equivalent may be considered)
Ability to learn new computer platforms and good knowledge of Excel
Functional English
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to work independently and with some time constraints
Knowledge of payroll processes, GST, QST and DAS tax rules, an asset
